OYS x Klemmings Oysters – A Gigas Experience on the Swedish West Coast
This spring, we set out on a salt-kissed adventure that brought us closer to nature and to the heart of what inspires us at OYS. Together with Lotta Klemming of Klemmings Ostron, we took a boat to the small Swedish island of Pinnö, surrounded by the crystal-clear waters of the west coast.
The sea was so clear you could see the shimmering sand below, and the shore was scattered with oyster shells a hidden world, raw and beautiful.
There, we hand-picked fresh oysters straight from the sea, grilling them over open flames with browned butter. The recipe was simple, but the experience was unforgettable. Sunshine, laughter, salty skin, and a group of incredible women, fully present in the moment. Lotta’s oyster safari offered more than taste. It gave us stories, connection, and a deeper understanding of where beauty really begins in the wild, in the now.
Before this journey, we were already captivated by oysters. Especially one species: Gigas. It had inspired our design process long before this trip. So seeing it in its natural habitat was deeply meaningful. It was Gigas that gave its name to one of our most personal collections.

We ended the day at the oyster farm, grilling turbot, toasting to life, and sharing long, lingering conversations under the Nordic sky. It was one of those evenings that stays with you. One that reminded us of why we do what we do and how a jewelry collection can start with something as simple, and as powerful, as an oyster.
GIGAS is about finding beauty in the raw and the real.
Two West Coast women - Lotta and I found a shared love in this world of salt, sea, and oysters. From that connection, the idea was born: to create an experience together. A day to harvest oysters, celebrate the coast, and honor the beautiful Ostrongården that Lotta has built with such heart.
